Community Power Workshop Series coming to communities across Ontario this fall

Wednesday, September 14th 2011 9:24:19am

Community power workshops scheduled in Halton, Hamilton, Haldimand-Norfolk, Kitchener, London, Niagara, Midland, Perth, Peterborough, Renfrew County, Sault Ste.Marie, Sudbury, Sarnia-Lambton and Toronto

Media Advisory - Attention: News & Community and Events Editors

This fall, The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) is partnering with 14 local organizations to deliver community power workshops across the province. These workshops will bring community-based groups together with local institutions to help them understand how to develop their own community-owned, community-controlled, renewable energy project.

At each workshop, experts will guide the participants through a highly interactive discussion to give them the tools that they need to start their own community solar energy project.

No previous experience is required and all are welcome.

Workshops will be three hours in length, and include a one hour introductory webinar prior to the session. All participants will receive a copy of OSEA's "Toolkit for Initiating Your Solar (PV) Community Power Project."
