Environmental Commissioner to release 2012/13 Annual Report

WHEN: Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Room 148, Queen’s Park Media Studio, Legislative Building, Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario

The report will be available online at http://www.eco.on.ca coincident with the media conference.

The report, entitled Serving the Public, will include substantive reviews of ministry decisions, ministry responses to applications for review and investigation, and other environmental issues.  Topics covered include:

  • The Transformation of the Ministry of Natural Resources

  • Protected Areas Planning: A Lost Priority

  • Ontario’s Far North and the Ring of Fire

  • Shale Gas - Regulate Before Fracking Begins

  • Stopping the Spread of Invasive Species

  • Safe Disposal of Pharmaceuticals and Sharps

  • Air Emissions from an Asphalt Blending Facility

The conference will also be available via webcast starting at 10 a.m. at http://www.eco.on.ca . Please note the Commissioner will not be taking questions via webcast, but will be available for individual interviews after the news conference.
